Your Story, Your Truth, Our Mission
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Kiona is a trained EMDR Clinician and specializes in trauma care. Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Children and teen suffer from traumatic events just as adults do. Motor vehicle accidents, sexual, verbal or emotional abuse, natural events such as tornadoes or fire, knowing a friend or schoolmate who may have committed suicide, or even death of a very close loved one may cause a child to feel anxious, depressed or even confused.
Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, neither good nor bad. Like any emotion, it conveys a message, telling you that a situation is upsetting, unjust, or threatening. The goal of anger management is to reduce both your emotional feelings and the physiological arousal that anger causes. You can't get rid of, or avoid, the things or the people that enrage you, nor can you change them, but you can learn to control your reactions.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship. Kiona is a trained Prepare and Enrich facilitator and customizes her clients‘ treatment with assessments with tailored treatment plan.
