Kiona Dunn-Henegan, LPC, EMDR, CAMS II

Kiona Dunn-Henegan, LPC, is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional serving as the Founder and Director of Simple Truth Counseling Center, LLC. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia, she brings a wealth of expertise to her practice, demonstrating proficiency in a range of therapeutic modalities.

A graduate of South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Kiona continued her academic journey at Argosy University-Atlanta, where she earned her Master of Science degree. In addition to her academic achievements, she holds a P-12 Teaching Certification from West Georgia.

Kiona's diverse skill set is underscored by her certifications as a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS II), a Certified Trauma Clinician specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and a Certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator. 

With a rich professional background, Kiona has successfully worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, including private practice and school environments. Her extensive experience encompasses individual, group, couples, and family therapy. While adept at addressing a spectrum of mental health concerns, Kiona specializes in supporting individuals dealing with complex trauma, as well as working with families and couples.

Kiona's therapeutic approach is marked by the utilization of diverse modalities, with a specific focus on EMDR to address symptoms stemming from traumatic experiences, such as anxiety, guilt, anger, depression, panic, abuse, low self-esteem, and flashbacks.

Beyond her clinical practice, Kiona is dedicated to professional development and community support. She offers certified trainings in Prepare and Enrich for clergy, coaches, counselors, and social workers interested in working with couples at various relationship stages. Additionally, she facilitates support groups for Teachers and Leaders, aiding them in coping with the challenges of the workplace and burnout.
